Application
Magnetic separator BSM is designed for thorough removal of submagnetic and ferromagnetic metal particles from granulated or free-flowing dry materials.
Installation
Magnetic drum systems are usually used when it is possible to install new equipment into the existing technological line with minimal constructive revisions. BSM separators are usually installed in the chute/conveyer/shaking feeder's unloading zone.
Principle of operation
Operation of this separator is based on the principle of removal of magnetic admixtures from granulated free-flowing materials by the magnetic field, created by permanent magnets, based on rare-earth metals. 180° sector of the magnetic system is fixed on a frame inside a drum, the outer stainless steel sidewall of the drum is rotated by the motor-reductor. When the processed product comes into contact with the drum surface, ferromagnetic particles are drawn to its surface and are held there until the sidewall leaves the magnetic field zone, when all the ferromagnetic particles fall off the surface of the drum into a special tray, while non-magnetic product continues its movement further.
