Research and production company «Erga» has designed and successfully launched serial production of magnetic drum separation systems (SMBM model) for continuous removal of metal particles from dry materials.

Purpose

Magnetic drum separators are designed for removal of paramagnetic (magnetic concentration) and ferromagnetic metal particles from dry granulated and/or free-flowing materials.

Installation

Modular drum systems are usually installed  in gravity flows and discharge chutes of an existing production line.

Principle of operation

SMBM magnetic separators are used for extraction of ferromagnetic particles from various products. Magnetic system (180° sector) is installed on a magnetic drum which is fixed inside a  stainless steel shell, rotated around the magnetiic system by the motor-reductor. Separation product is fed through the loading hopper directly on the rotating shell. Ferromagnetic particles are drawn to the surface of the shell under the influence of a powerful magnetic field, and stay there until the rotating shell goes beyond the magnetic sector of the drum. The magnetic field disappears and ferromagnetic particles are discharged from the shell into a special container. A multipolar magnetic system also guarantees efficient extraction  of occasional magnetic particles from  product aggregates, minimizing product losses and improving its quality.

Application

High efficiency, low energy consumption (in comparison with electromagnetic separators) and simplicity of construction make this magnetic separator very popular in various industries – mining and smelting, glass, wood processing, recycling, etc.
