Eddy-current separators (SMVT model) are a new type of equipment, based on permanent Nd-Fe-B magnets, produced by Research and production company «Erga» and designed for removal of non-ferrous metals from various products.
Application
SMVT magnetic separators are designed for separation of nonferrous (conducting) metals with fraction size from -50,0(100) to 7,0 mm. from the product flow.
Construction and principle of operation
SMVT magnetic separators are usually used when there is a possibility to install new equipment into the existing production line with small constructive revisions. Non-ferrous metals separator is a horizontally arranged conveyer belt, which consists of a tension reel and magnetic driving rotor. Both drive pulley and magnetic rotor have autonomous adjustable rotary drives.
Principle of operation of this separator is based on inducting EMF in conducting materials by a rotating magnetic field. This interaction defines different fall-trajectories of material particles, depending on their physical properties. Separation of metals is carried out according to the trajectory differences for different components of the separated product. It is necessary to remember that all ferromagnetic admixtures have to be removed before using the non-ferrous metals separator. When the ferromagnetic admixtures content in the product flow is low, it is removed as a separate fraction. All artificial materials, wood and other non-metallic materials are separated as residual fraction.
Thus, SMVT magnetic separators are used for efficient separation of conducting nonferrous metals from the product flow.
