Application
SMB series of magnetic separators are designed for thorough removal of ferromagnetic metal particles from dry materials, transported on a conveyer.
Installation
SMB pulleys are installed instead of a conveyer's drive pulley in case if it is impossible to use stand-alone separation systems, or when the drum construction of this type is the most efficient.
Principle of operation
Operation of this model is based on the principle of removal of magnetic admixtures from free-flowing materials by a magnetic field, created by permanent magnets, based on rare-earth metals. When the material comes into contact with the drum surface through the conveyer belt, the process of separation starts. Ferromagnetic particles, influenced by a powerful magnetic field, are drawn to the surface of the drum and stay on its surface until the conveyor belt leaves the surface of the drum, then the magnetic field disappears and ferromagnetic particles fall off into a special container. Purified material is transported on a tangent to the drum surface for further processing.

SMB pulley separators effectively extract ferromagnetic admixtures from the product flow, guaranteeing high purity of the end-product and protecting expensive production equipment from breaking. High efficiency and low power consumption, in comparison with electromagnetic separators, make usage of SMB separators possible in many industries, including mining and smelting, glass production, wood processing, construction, recycling and agriculture (sugar and mixed fodder production).
