New generation of magnetic separators, designed by Research and production company «Erga», combines the latest technological achievements, progressive technologies of magnetic concentration and our know-how technology of production of high-energy NdFeB & SmCo alloys. SMVI magnetic separators were designed to implement modern and effective solutions for magnetic concentration of dry raw materials. Deficit of high-quality raw materials once more stressed the importance of such equipment as SMVI separators – effective and economically rewarding. Research & production company «Erga» has designed and already successfully implemented high-energy magnetic roll separators (SMVI model).

Application 

SMVI Magnetic separators were designed for magnetic concentration or removal of paramagnetic minerals from a flow of dry and fine materials.

Installation

High-intensity roll systems are usually used when there is a possibility of adding new equipment into an existing technological line with certain constructive revisions in the product transportation scheme.

Principle of operation

Principle of operation of this magnetic separator can be described as separation of the product from paramagnetic (weakly magnetic) minerals by a magnetic roll - a high-power system, made of permanent NdFeB magnets.

The separator consists of a magnetic roll in a self-contained housing with an extra-thin belt, product distribution system and flow separation device. Main element of the separator is a magnetic roll, with magnetic induction on the surface ranging from 1,2 to 1,6 Tsl. Transporting element is a thin graphite-filled Kevlar belt with Teflon coating, which possesses high wear-resistance and allows minimum induction loss between the magnetic system and the product. As a result, magnetic induction on the surface of the working area ranges from 1,1 to 1,6Tsl. Modular construction allows fast belt replacement (less than 5 minutes) by one mechanic. The separator is equipped with a vibratory feeder for regulation of optimal product flow, inspection window, aspiration orifices and a remote-control system. Separated product is fed through a vertical feed bin to a flow distribution device, guaranteeing an even distribution of the product layer in the magnetic field area. Rotation of the belt conveys the product to the magnetic roll in the separation zone. When the material reaches the magnetic field area, magnetic and/or paramagnetic elements are drawn to the roll, thus changing their movement trajectory, and are separated from the flow by the product distribution system. Non-magnetic material continues its movement on its original trajectory. Rare-earth magnetic roll separators, depending on their distinctive technological features, can be produced in 1, 2 or 3 level versions with non-magnetic or magnetic repeater

Summary

Low energy consumption and high-quality separation, small dimensions and weight, in comparison with electromagnetic separators, account for superiority of SMVI magnetic separators. Wide range of magnetic properties of extracted elements is a reason for various efficient ways of implementing high-inductance magnetic separation systems in many industries.

Technical characteristics :

  1. Separated material fraction - 0,01 - 10 mm;
  2. Separated material humidity - under 2%;
  3. Output - 0,010 - 12 t/hour ;
  4. Magnetic system material - Nd-Fe-B, (BH) max > 330 kJ/m3;
  5. Magnetic induction on the surface of the magnetic system at t=20 (°С), - 1,1 - 1,6 (Tsl);
  6. Maximum operation temperature – up to +80 °С (+120 °С);
  7. Cleaning system – automatic (adjustable);
  8. Stability of magnetic properties is guaranteed for 10 years.
